02-17-13 Medford Township 2 Alarm Building Fire

Helmet Cam from Engine 2521’s officer.

Companies were dispatched to the Ironstone Village in Medford, NJ at 2 AM for a reported middle of the row restaurant fully involved- police on location reporting the same. Battalion 25202 arrived and placed all companies in service. Crews encountered heavy fire conditions in 3 units and had to use 2500 feet of large diameter supply hose to bring water to the fire. Crews used their largest hand lines and ladder pipes and were able to keep the fire to the 3 units involved on arrival.

The incident commander used 2 alarms which brought companies from Medford Lakes, Evesham, Tabernacle, Shamong and Vincentown in to assist.

No civilian injuries were reported, but one firefighter was treated and released from a local hospital. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

This helmet cam is an advanced copy of a new helmet cam about to be released by FDCam.com. FDC offered Intothesmoke.tv the opportunity to take the new camera out and test it. Producer Dave Hernandez put the camera on his helmet and was able to catch a fire in his hometown. The new cam offers outstanding quality, durability and the opportunity to train our firefighters through recorded experience.

The new model will be ready to ship in a week or so at FDCam.com
